Dioxins and other Persistent Organic Pollutants
Precise Remediation Sequencing
Dioxins, often referred to as "the poison of the century," presents significant decomposition challenges globally. Thermal desorption is recognized as an effective and mature treatment technology for dioxins, with key considerations including reducing energy consumption and adjusting treatment temperature and combustion time. In our thermal desorption case at the decommissioned alkaline chlorine and pentachlorophenol plant, Apollotech integrated low-energy soil washing to minimize thermal desorption volume while precisely controlling operational parameters, resulting in improved treatment efficiency.
Tailored design for complex pollution
The dioxins remediation site we manage also faces high concentrations of mercury contamination, necessitating a thorough understanding of the phase changes of both pollutants during treatment. Leveraging extensive practical experience and expertise, Apollotech has effectively monitored these changes and distributions, successfully completing the treatment of over 40,000 tons of dioxins contaminated soil.
Expertise in Addressing Large-Scale Complex Pollution
The decommissioning site for alkaline chlorine and pentachlorophenol is one of the most notable dioxins and mercury pollution sites in Taiwan, characterized by its complexity and scale, which is rare on an international level. Since 2011, Apollotech has provided pollution remediation services at this site, including soil washing, sediment dredging, thermal desorption, and wastewater treatment. We have established a strong reputation for our comprehensive remediation efforts.
